Brandt's Tumbling Log

This is a tumbling log of things and thoughts that pass my way.

If you got here by accident, you may want to visit my website instead.

There is no reason to bookmark this article and read it another day. Its nearly all pictures. You can read it now. This “picture of the future” was actually added to our browsers in the 90s. Netscape and MSIE3.0 both had it. “It” is Client Certificates, and to me to means “never logging on with username/password NOR OpenID ever again”. Zero Sign On. It must be better than the much-targetted Single Sign On. Zero Sign On - 1 better or Infinitely better than Single Sign On?—That’s all fine and good, but I use both Safari and Firefox on my Mac, plus Internet Explorer on my Boot Camp partition, plus my iPhone, plus Safari on my kitchen PowerBook and another Safari on the living room Mac Mini. PKI isn’t nearly ready to make it easy for me to manage one identity across all those platforms. I’ll stick to single sign on for now, thank you very much.
